Hey, great lens, it should help some folks out!! I personally avoid the usb mic route. I like to use the "Blue Icicle", XLR to USB adapter, this way I can use any mic I want for different applications. I'm thinking about a beats by dre headset directly compatible with Mac OS X. I prefer a singlejack input over USB since it doesn't use a USB port, but USB is fine. Members should try to attend. A good technique for this set up is to use a cheap mic mixer to mic up amps and drums, and maybe an output from a practice PA,Monster Beats, and get a rough mix fed straight into the phone via the above mic cable adapter. This will give a rough and ready mix that can be set up ibn minutes and used to record rehearsals or demoing sessions.. Now that doesn't meant that the physical build quality of these beats headphones is lacking because it isn't and they're made from the usual mix of plastic and metal, so they're more than sturdy enough for regular use.
