Updating the programs and applications that you are using every now and then is pretty essential
because it comes with the inclusion of several new features and the removal of bugs. Similarly, if you are
using the MetaMask extension for using the wallet services offered by MetaMask, then you should give
heed to updating this extension as well. As we all know that MetaMask, in the form of an extension, can
easily be installed on different web browsers such as Chrome, Brave, Opera, Edge, or Firefox, therefore
the process to update it varies based on the browser you are using.
Metamask Extension
On the other hand, if you are using MetaMask through its mobile application, then you simply need to
update the wallet app, either from the Google Play Store or from the Apple App Store. Meanwhile, the
process to update the MetaMask extension is quite different. First of all, you need to make sure that any
update for MetaMask has been released or not.
If there is an update available, then you simply need to right-click on the MetaMask logo available in the
toolbar of Chrome. Here, you need to select the "Manage Extensions" option and then switch the toggle
towards the "Developer Mode." When on the new page, you can choose the "Update" option and then
the extension would get updated in its set time period.
On the other hand, if you are not able to follow this process, there is a short trick that can help you get
the latest MetaMask extension installed. All you have to do is uninstall and remove the extension from
your browser completely. Once it is removed, you just need to head to the official website of MetaMask
and then re-install the extension from there. This newly-installed version of MetaMask would be its
latest version.
